Green Skills Work Placement & Career Pathways

Earth Ability

Earth Ability is the work placement and employability strand of the Earth Scholars programme, designed to prepare students for future careers within the growing green economy. The programme bridges education and employment by providing practical, real-world experience through supported placements linked directly to each student’s individual career interests and aspirations. By aligning projects with personal goals, Earth Ability enables students to explore meaningful career pathways while developing essential workplace skills. Students move beyond learning about sustainability to actively contributing to environmental solutions, gaining experience that supports progression into further education, training, and employment.

 

Programme Focus

  • Structured work placements are integrated within, and run parallel to, the Earth Scholars course.

  • Placement projects tailored to students’ career interests and strengths.

  • Hands-on experience across environmental and sustainability sectors.
  • Mentoring, reflection, and workplace readiness support.
  • Partnerships with local businesses, community organisations, and environmental initiatives.
  • Inclusive pathways supporting diverse learners and future ambitions.
